Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year

Today we cleaned the house for hours, which is not bad if you love to clean and have things neat, like me, and the house right now looks really good if you ask me. Tonight, Christmas Eve, my family and I are going to open one present from the amazing family we have after we will play Yahtzee and Apples to Apples. Tomorrow at around 4 my cousins and aunt are coming to stay till New Years Eve morning! We are going to enjoy being together and do fun winterey things.

I am so excited! And I think winter is my favorite season after summer. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Teeheeheeee

I have the Duathlon tomorrow evening! And I am soooooooooo EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I...

• Took the bus by myself to Ginger Webb's kitchen for class
• After everyone arrived we talked for a little while then we all walked down to the bus stop and took the bus to the river.
• When we got there we walked down the path and stopped every now and again to talk about and look at a plant.
• Then we all decided it was lunch time so we walked to a gorgeous spot right on the river, sat down, ate lunch, enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
• After lunch we waded in to the water and made fairy houses, and head pieces out of all the amazing different plants around.
• When it was time for us to head back we had a little round of high points about our journey today.
• We walked back to the bus stop and waited till the bus came, then we took it to Ginger's to wait for our parents to come get us.
• My mom and I biked to another bus and took that downtown and then we took the #5 bus to our house.

That's all that has happened today so far. It was an amazing day and it made me think that we NEED to STOP polluting so much, take the bus instead of driving its a lot cheaper and less polluting. And its fun! Sitting at the river and looking at it, so crystal clear and cool. We should make all our rivers that way.

Today is my aunts 1 month anniversary of her death and I would just really truely put that out there, thats all.
I LOVE my aunt ALMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I...

• Dean and I rode our bikes to the playground to hang out and play some games.
• We stayed there for a while then rode to the library which was closed so we went to the back and made up our plays on the stage.
• Rode home, and decided to bake some cookies but we didn't have any eggs so we walked down to the corner store to buy eggs.
• Baked cookies, and muffins made from cookie batter. Very tasty!
• Had a "picnic" lunch in the living room, then went outside to learn about raccoons, owls and skunks.
• Got off of "school" with Dean.
• Esme and Otto got home from school, had snack, then Esme and I worked on and finished her family tree.
• Got ready for swimteam then Kathie and Ramona picked me up.
• Then we picked up Finlay and Willa and drove to swimteam.
• Swam 2200 yds. So tiring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Ate dinner, talked with papa then watched Glee.

Today I...

• My mom, Dean and I took the #10 bus down to Congress then walked a block to the #4 bus, and took that to Ginger Web's kitchen.
• Several minutes later everyone else got there. Then we started our amazing class!
• We started off by making a Ashwagandha tincture, which is a dry herb and then we cut a freshly picked Passionflower vine from Ginger's back yard to make a sleep tincture.
• After that we ate lunch, then went back into the kitchen to make a bunch of different teas that we were going to drink.
• Each tea that we got we smelled it, tasted it and then talked about it.
• While we were talking about them we made index cards about the different plants.
• I got picked up then drove home to wait for the kids to come home from school.
• Mom took Esme to drama.

That is all I have done so far today but I will write about the rest of my day later.

This is a day late, but what the hey.
Today I...

• Went to cook with my adult friend Barbara.
• I made a batch of 40 dried fig and white chocolate cookies then after that I made another batch of white chocolate and dark chocolate cookies.
• Cut and prepared the salad bar.
• Served lunch to about 20 people.
• Then went outside to enjoy the amazing lunch Barbara and I created. And the weather.
• Barbara and I drove home, then she dropped me off and I went inside to enjoy some time to myself before I went to have some fun and watch 6 kids.
• At 7:00 my friends mother came to pick me up, then we drove to their house.
• After they left we played outside on the trampoline, then went inside to watch a movie.
• When the movie was over we went outside to the trampoline again for a while.
• When we were finished on the trampoline we went inside and played this game called Alligator that Maddie made up. A very fun game.
• At around 10 we left and they took me home.
• I got ready for bed and watch a new show that my mom and I just started watching called Parenthood. Amazing show!
• Went to bed.

That is what I call an Awesome day!!!!!!!!!!!! Homeschooling is SO COOL!

• figured out the bus system on the computer: schedule, route, destination map
  
• Figured out which bus would work best for us
• Took the bus to University of Texas Memorial Museum of Natural History
• Studied the rocks and geology
• Pterasaur
• Taxidermied animal mounts
• Wildlife Photo exhibit by Greg Lasley and John Ingram
• Paleontology Lab and dug through the discovery drawers
• Local geology section - studied the map of Austin and the geology of the area including creeks, aquifer, fossils, etc.
  
• Mammoth tooth
  
• femur bone of an allasaurus
• Lunch outside, climbed trees, took photos and put Dean on top of a bush for a rest
• Bus back to South Austin - 20 minute bus ride from campus
• Got off at Nicholas dawson park where we romped in East Bouldin Creek which we had just looked at on the map
• Made a video of Dean in the creek
• Noticed the creek looked cleaner today than the other day and the chocolate factory Esme and I play in looked greener and better than it had looked.
• Swim team with Ramona, Lilah and Finlay - one legged swimming
  
• Couple episodes of Project Runway - one with family and one with mama and papa
